Fun Times

Created by Christine one year ago

Kev was a good laugh, he enjoyed nothing more than company, good food and a glass or two.  We have had fun times cooking together but he had trouble talking, cooking and drinking at the same time and he made a terrible mess.  I acted as Sous Chef but majority of my role was to try to keep him on track with the recipe and to shut every cupboard and drawer after he had been in them.

He loved to tell a joke and over the years I have heard them all before but it was the way he told them and started laughing when he knew the end was coming that made me giggle every time.  Beth used to tell me off for encouraging him.  We would giggle like a couple of children.

He always made time to ask about our interests, hobbies, family and travel plans and seemed genuinely interested in all we did.

He had a knack of knowing who wouldn’t be offended by his antics, I was one of his victims, see the photo taken at Kings Cross on platform 9 3/4. There was one time he had disappeared upstairs and he called me to the bottom of the stairs as though it was urgent.  When I got there he was stood on the landing just in his apron!  I screamed and laughed and he loved that, so being encouraged he turned around and showed me his bum.  We stayed over for Kate and Wills wedding and on the morning he brought us tea in bed only wearing his underpants, union jack braces and a red white and blue wig.  I took a photo, he loved it.

I know whenever I  think of Kev in the future his memory will bring a smile to my face, I will miss him dearly, he was a very special man.
